Dr. Christain Lin-Burns
Dr. Christain Lin-Burns is a board certified pediatric dentist. Her goal is to promote a lifetime of healthy smiles through education and positive dental experiences.
Dr. Burns completed her dental training at the University of Southern California where she received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery. After dental school she received additional training in hospital dentistry/special needs dentistry at the University of Washington.
Dr. Burns received her specialty training in pediatric dentistry at Rady Children’s Hospital through the NYU Langone pediatric dental residency program. During residency, she was selected to serve as a chief resident for the program. Currently Dr. Burns is an attending pediatric dentist for the residency program and is a member of the medical staff at Rady Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Burns is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD). She is also an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), California Dental Association (CDA) and American Dental Association (ADA) and San Diego Dental Society.
Dr. Burns was raised in San Diego, where she attended Ranch Bernardo High School. She is excited to be a part of the community she grew up in. Dr. Burns is married to her best friend and is a mom to two energetic boys. When she is not working at saving the world one tooth at a time, she enjoys baking, camping, and convincing her boys that she is a LEGO Master-Builder.
Dr. George Abichaker
Dr. George Abichaker DDS, MS, is a board certified orthodontist who is passionate about transforming people’s smiles.
Dr. George is a Southern California native who was born and raised in Los Angeles. After graduating from college, Dr. George attended the prestigious University of Southern California School of Dentistry where he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS). He then went on to complete his Orthodontic training at the University of Southern California where he also received a masters in craniofacial biology. After completing his training, Dr. George moved to San Diego and has been practicing here ever since. Dr. George has been published in peer reviewed journals for his research multiple times and has won many awards for his scientific achievements. In addition, Dr. George is currently clinical faculty at the pediatric dental residency at Rady’s Children’s Hospital and is in charge of the program’s orthodontic curriculum.
Dr. George is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics (ABO), and a member of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), American Dental Association (ADA), the California Dental Association (CDA), the Califorina Association of Orthodontists (CAO), the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists (PCSO), and the San Diego Dental Society.
In his free time, Dr. George enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, watching movies, volunteering and reading.
Dr. Vivien Lao
Dr. Vivien Lao is a board certified pediatric dentist. She strives to create a fun and relaxing environment for all of her patients, while trying to understand the unique needs of each individual child. Dr. Lao hopes that families will find comfort in coming to Smile Adventures for the best possible care and attention.
Dr. Lao was born and raised in Sacramento, California. She attended UCLA for college and has lived in southern California ever since. After receiving her bachelors in physiological science, Dr. Lao stayed on at the UCLA School of Dentistry to pursue her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree. Following her passion to work with children, Dr. Lao completed an additional two years of residency training at UCLA in order to become a pediatric dental specialist and a proud triple Bruin. She moved to San Diego thereafter where she has been practicing for over 10 years and has been happy to call it home.
Dr. Lao is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD). She is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), California Dental Association (CDA), American Dental Association (ADA), the San Diego Dental Society, as well as an affiliate staff member at Rady’s Children’s Hospital.
In her spare time, Dr. Lao enjoys watching movies, baking, traveling, and creating chalkboard art in the office. Most of all, she enjoys spending quality time with her husband, her pokemon loving son, and princess obsessed daughter.
Dr. Amanda Effat
Dr. Amanda Effat is a pediatric dentist. She loves working with children to foster a healthy lifestyle including beautiful smiles.
Dr. Effat completed her dental training at the University of Southern California where she received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery. She then received her specialty training in pediatric dentistry at Rady Children’s Hospital through the NYU Langone pediatric dental residency program in San Diego, where she served as chief resident.
Dr. Effat enjoys being involved in an advocacy role for the improvement of oral health of children and hopes to continue doing so in the future. She is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), California Dental Association (CDA) and California Society of Pediatric Dentistry (CSPD).
Fun facts: Dr. Effat was born and raised in Toronto, Canada, and has lived in Cairo, Egypt! During her spare time, Dr. Effat loves to spend time with her family, go on hikes and travel. She is always on the lookout for new places to explore.
